What are we about?
The Roosevelt Administration believed that if private enterprise could not supply electric power to the people, then it was the duty of the government to do so. In 1935 the Rural Electric Administration (REA) was created to bring electricity to rural areas like the Tennessee Valley.
What is our purpose?
Our purpose is to provide affordable electricity for farmers in rural areas, this would then improve the standard of living and the economic competitiveness of the family farm.
Where will the program be used?
Our program will be used in rural areas like the Tennessee Valley, it will also be available for farmers who need electrical wiring on their farms throughout the US.
How will we achieve our goal?
Our goal is to provide electricity to farmers who can not afford to receive it from private utility companies. In order to achieve this goal, we will be providing federal loans for the installation of electrical distribution.
